Exhibit: Cut it Out!  200 Years of Paper Dolls
September 21, 2012 through February 23, 2013
Paper dolls have been handmade since the 1700s and mass produced as early as 1812.  A wide selection from the vast CCHS collection, numbering over 8,000 paper dolls, will reveal the range of unique and printed pieces that are a feast for the eyes for any fashion enthusiast, celebrity watcher, or child at
Exhibit: The Edge of Battle: Chester County and the Civil War 

October 19, 2012 through August 31, 2013

150 years ago our country was engulfed in turmoil.  Battles for hearts and minds raged over union and secession, freedom and slavery.  Chester County was not united in support for the Union or President Lincoln.  Public meetings and rival newspapers fanned the flames of conflict.  Experience the hopes, struggles, victories, and losses of local men and women who lived during our nation's bloodiest war and see how their words and actions echo in our lives today.

Wondering what to do on a weekday when school is out? Bring the entire family to the museum for a day of old fashioned fun and special programs!  For only $10 per family (admission benefits the New Horizons History Education Scholarship Fund) you can experience crafts, Victorian toys, dress up, all museum exhibits and The History Lab.

Meet the Author! Special Program: At 11 a.m., local children's author, Jen Bryant, presents a multimedia program explaining how she researched and wrote her new book: A Splash of Red, The Life and Art of Horace Pippin. Afterward, she will answer questions and sign copies of her book.

April 5 - 7, 2013  Location: The Phelps School, Malvern, PA

Attracting over 2,000 visitors and collectors each year, the highly anticipated annual antiques show, presented by PECO, is a benefit for the Chester County Historical Society.  More than 50 exceptional dealers from throughout the country offer high quality 18th and 19th Century American and Continental furniture, rugs, paintings, porcelain, glass, silver, jewelry, needlework and other decorative arts.  The theme of this year's event is Architectural Elements in Furniture.
